Now, everything works 100% perfect, and it's a real joy. The good = you don't need to invest any more time messing around with software, firmware, other pens or the such, I have the solution.Īfter doing all the software/firmware stuff and getting a replacement pen from Dell, I finally got my screen replaced. I have an extended warranty on my device, might have to send it in?

I have issues on any drawing app, the attachments here tested on OneNote and the win10 screen snip app. I did all the obvious things like changing the battery, re-pairing the pen, updating the firmware, keeping the system up to date, but to no avail. The software registers the disconnects as me lifting off the pen, as when I hit the "undo" button, it cancels the lines part by part, even though I have never lifted the pen of the screen when drawing them. If I draw with my finger (red lines), the disconnect issue does not happen and the wobbly line appears to be there, but much less obvious. Those wobbles also appear in the "good" sections. The wobbly line issue also appears, when I draw lines close to each other (palm on and off the screen). There is no difference whether I use the pen tilted, upright, draw the lines left to right or top to bottom. I get disconnects on several parts of the screen (always the same places). I have the same, and an even worse issue with my XPS 15 2in1 9575 and my PN579X pen (see attached). It seems to have started recently, as I can't recall having had the issue in the beginning, but then again I am not using the pen much. The wobbles in between the most obvious wobbly areas are far worse than what I experience with other tablet devices or on paper, etc. (Please note: I was trying to draw perfectly straight diagonal lines in the image above and do not have any shake in my hands. Is this issue common to the model, or could it be a defective machine?Ĭan I fix it with software/drivers, and, if so, how? The positions at which the most obvious wobbles occur seem consistent, making me think this issue is due to the screen? Could these be the result of deviations in the plane of the screen due to something structural behind it? I made a Krita (drawing software) canvas cover most of the screen, then tried to draw straight diagonal lines. My Dell XPS 13 2-in-1, using the active stylus that came with it, draws wobbly lines.
